Extra Curricular Opportunities
There are many opportunities for students to pursue their interests outside of the classroom.
Sport
An extensive range of extra-curricular sports is offered including football, basketball, multi gym, netball, trampolining, badminton, rugby, rounders and tennis. During the autumn and spring terms there are hockey, football, netball, basketball, table- tennis and volleyball inter-house tournaments. Alongside these run quizzes, cooking, art, performing arts, pool and darts competitions. In the summer term there are athletics, rounders, tennis and cricket competitions, culminating with Sports Day. All these events involve as many students as possible of all abilities and talents. Sixth Formers are involved in the leadership of many of these activities giving them real responsibility as they develop during their time in the Sixth Form.
Music
Instrumental tuition on strings, brass, woodwind, guitar and percussion is presently available within school.
Trips
A wide variety of visits takes place; many are educational, while others are of a social nature.
Year 9 Opportunities Week
At the end of Year 9, all students are involved in a week of activities which take place both and out of school. Previous visits have included Shrewsbury Prison, Chester Zoo, Alton Towers. In school activities have included an Army STEM day, teambuilding and Option subject trials.
