School Uniform

A high standard of personal appearance is always expected from students. Not wearing the correct uniform will be viewed as failure to follow school rules and a breach of the Home School Agreement. As such students will be subject to sanctions, including being sent home to change, being placed in detention or being placed in internal isolation. In addition, following Department for Education advice, for serious or repeated breaches of the school’s uniform requirements, students may face exclusion even if they have not displayed other poor behaviour.

Uniform

  • Black blazer with school badge
  • Plain black V-neck jumper or cardigan can be worn with the blazer
  • White long or short-sleeved shirt (not a polo shirt)
  • School tie
  • Plain black trousers (not leggings, denim, cords, or sportswear)
  • Plain black footwear
  • A bag or rucksack large enough for books and equipment

  • An optional knee length, pleated, black skirt, worn with black tights. This must be black and pleated. Tight fitted skirts and skirts made with stretchy fabric/material are NOT acceptable. Pleated black skirt 

    For the summer term only – an optional tailored, black school short, worn with black or white socks. Sports, branded or any other type of short are NOT acceptable.

     

     

Outdoor coats may not be worn inside school.

Hoodies are not permitted in school they are not acceptable as an outdoor coat. Hoodies will be confiscated if they are worn in school and kept until parents/carers can collect them.

Jewellery must be removed completely for practical activities in some lessons.

Students may only wear plain studs in ear piercings and clear plain studs in facial piercings.

Physical Education Kit

  • White T-shirt or white school polo shirt
  • Black shorts
  • Trainers
  • Football / Rugby boots
  • White ankle socks for indoor activities
  • Black football socks
  • For cold weather a black tracksuit may be worn
  • Black waterproof jacket (optional)
  • Shin pads
  • Gum shield

Items of physical education kit must not be worn outside PE lessons.
