Admissions
Year 9 September Admissions
Early in the autumn term parents/carers of Year 8 students receive a letter from the Local Authority advising them of their catchment High School. Parents/carers are asked to complete a form stating which school they want their child to attend. Forms must be returned to the Local by the deadline stated (this is normally towards the end of October).
At the beginning of March the Local Authority will inform parents/carers of the name of the school at which their child has been offered a place. If parents/carers are unhappy with this they have the right to appeal. Appeals are heard during the first part of the summer term by an independent appeals panel.
In accordance with legislation, children who have a statutory statement of special educational need or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that names Leek High School must be admitted to the school. This does reduce the amount of places available to other applicants.
Further information about the school for parents of Year 8 students is available in the New Admissions Booklet which is issued to parents/carers prior to the in-school transition days in July.
In-Year Admissions
Parents/carers who need a place at the school for a child in Year 10 or Year 11 (or Year 9 at any time after September) should complete the Staffordshire In-Year Admission Form and return this directly to the school.

Children In Care Admissions
Applications for children in public care should be made using the Staffordshire In-Year Admission to School Application for Children in Public Care form and return this directly to the school. The application form should NOT be used to apply for school places for children with a Statement of Special Educational Need (SEN) or Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Parents/carers should contact the SEND Assessment and Planning Service for advice on 0300 111 8007 if this applies.
