Alex Kenneth is the school’s independent Careers Adviser and Quality in Careers Standards Consultant. Alex provides impartial advice and guidance working with Leek High students and their parents/carers from Year 9 through to Year 13. Alex offers particular additional support for students who are in local authority care. All students leaving Leek High will be given a wide range of impartial information to help them make informed choices about their future post-16. Alex liaises with local and specialist national colleges, training providers, employers and the voluntary sector to ensure that knowledge is up to date and information can be shared about the needs, demands and the trends within the Labour Market locally, nationally and globally.

Mrs J Wheat is the school’s Director for Business, Careers and Enterprise. Mrs Wheat oversees content and delivery of the careers education programme in Years 9 to 11. In addition Mrs Wheat arranges employer workplace visits, careers workshops for students, business enterprise activities such as ‘Year 10 Enterprise Day’ and annual careers exhibitions where we have over many different exhibitors attending. Students also have the opportunity of attending higher education careers events though our work with the Higher Horizons organisation.
